28mm Warlord Late war Germans

Late War Germans

So being stuck at home has its advantages of more hobby time. Previously I've collected some Late War sprues in the Warlord sales, and bits off ebay with the intention of starting an army that I would like to play but hate to paint. German camouflage is bad enough in 15mm could it be easier in 28mm?

Having built these for fun previously all I needed was a primer and my Chain of Command Late War Germans would finally be started.

So first up junior leader with mp40, no? Got carried away.

Yeah I might be using some artistic licence.

There are numerous painting guides out there to give you inspiration, Duncan Rhodes recent German grenadier may have inspired me to paint these, just a little bit.
1 of the 7

Another
As with my recent Spectre Minatures I'm still short on basing materials for now so plain brown it is.
And another

Technically he is a rifleman
So five more to go, three rifleman and the MG 42 pair and my first section will be complete. I will build an actual junior leader with an mp40, then all of the junior leaders will have an automatic weapon. I'll also need extra MG's if I want to represent a panzer grenadier platoon as well.
The problem I find with plastic self assembly is you can end up with lots of awkward places to paint. This bugs me, so seeing as I need more to complete the section I'm going to try painting the next five on the sprue and see if it saves me any time!
